Meteora, Greece

I recently saw this breathtaking place in a blog by Bored Panda (link below) and decided that this is a place I have to travel to. Meteora used to be filled with over 20 different monasteries, but now only six remain. Meteora means "suspended in the air", all of the monasteries were built on tall sandstone pillars. The monks used a network of ropes, pulleys, baskets and ladders to reach them. The remaining six are split between male monks, and female nuns. I would love to travel to this amazing historical site.
